How do I get ready for the sale?

  1. Go through closets, check in the attic and look under the bed. Don't forget formal wear, shoes, purses, scarves, games, movies and jewelry (NO Books).
  2. Clothes must be hung on hangers with the item facing you and the hanger in the shape of a question mark(?). Clothes that are in danger of falling off must be safety pinned securely. (No straight pins or tiny safety pins.)
  3. Check to make sure items are free from stains and rips. Make sure all zippers, snaps, buttons, etc. work. Items sell better when they look better. Wrinkles don't make clothes look good!
  4. Package your items. Secure all items together that are being sold together. If you package 3 items in a Zip style bag to sell for one price, zip it and then tape it tightly. Make sure all games, toys or multi-piece items are complete and secured together.
  5. Tag your items. Use ½ of a 3x5 card cut vertically. Tags are safety pinned (no straight pins or tiny safety pins) to the upper right hand side of the item as it faces you.
  6. Tags on non-clothing items are usually taped on. Do NOT use scotch tape or masking tape, they will not hold. If the material is delicate then pin the tag on the clothing tag inside the clothes.

  7. Tags must look like illustration above:
    1. Upper Left Corner - Seller Number. Call C.J. at 664-0451 for your seller number.
    2. Upper Right Corner - Price (in increments of no less than 50¢, starting at 50¢. NO ITEMS for 25¢ or 10¢ PLEASE)
    3. Circle the Price in RED INK if you want this item to sell for ½ off on the final day. If you want the full price on all days, do not make a circle.
    4. Lower Left Corner - Sizes either S, M, L, XL, XXL or a number. For the ladies sale we'll have two sections: one with S, M, L, etc. and the other section with numbers.
    5. Middle - Brief description of item
  8. Price your items. Ask yourself honestly, "What would I pay for this?" Good items can ask ¼ or a little more of the original price.
  9. Items must be pre-sorted by either size or S, M, L, etc. before bringing them to drop off.
  10. Tell your friends and family. Your verbal recommendation is the best advertising possible. Don't forget to shop. Please read notes from previous sales.
  11. Pick up all unsold items at the designated time after the sale. By previous arrangements, unsold items will be dontated.
